Stolen designer, Elyn is expanding her repertoire and designing Jewelleries for the first time. "Risis is a brand I grew up admiring. I remember being absolutely mind blown when I realised its real flowers being plated as jewelleries! So to be able to collaborate with Risis on this project feels pretty special for me.”
This jewellery collection explores femininity in the current world. Today, seeming weakness and strength coexist in the feminine. Elyn uses the Vanda Miss Joaquim to translate Femininity in a contemporary Stolen style.
Keeping faithful to Stolen’s brand ethos, the entire collection was presented in a non traditional non runway manner. Instead it was a closed door session with intimate sharings from our dear Stolen customers. Everyone shared about their journey, strengths, weaknesses and their femininity. It was a moving, heartfelt and vulnerable experience for everyone. Yet powerful and empowering. The kind of event that can never be scripted or planned for. It is these events that we hold dear and cherish with our customers and collaborators. Thank you Risis for being open hearted with us.
NEW FEMININITY by STOLEN x RISIS
Our understanding of femininity today has evolved. It is no longer a marker of gender and identity. The definition of femininity has; gone beyond gentleness to strength and tenacity. Today, seeming weakness and strength coexist in the feminine. These qualities vary in expression for each woman; they vary between each moment of our lives, reflecting what is unique about every woman.
Vanda Miss Joaquim was famously chosen as the national flower of Singapore for its vibrancy, tenacity and resilience. This strength and tenacity make it a perfect choice to represent our collection. Vanda Miss Joaquim is also the very first hybrid flower in Singapore, a little known fact. Yet such hybridity is ideal for our vision of how both gentleness and strength come together to embody the feminine.
The Stolen x Risis jewellery collection celebrates this ever- changing femininity in the contemporary woman. It respects the fluidity and multiplicity of the feminine, that both the bold and the delicate can be present in a woman. The soft flirty tassels and the strong architectural art deco motif, combine with an organic form of the beautiful Vanda Miss Joaquim, aims to embody the different facets of femininity.
