Stolen is one of the designers featured in the highly anticipated Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition, showing at Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2018. Handmade is Wallpaper*’s most ambitious annual project, a showcase which celebrates collaboration, customisation and the marriage of craftsmanship and design.
Presenting to you MERIDIAN METTLACH. A Stolen x Villeroy&Boch collaboration for Wallpaper* Handmade 2018. Combining the rich heritage of western craftsmanship with ancient eastern reflexology therapy, we explored the parallels between eastern and western notions of wellness. Created this contemporary celebration of cross cultural wellness wonder.
Stolen’s first entry into the Milan Design Week, as part of Salone del Mobile. Being one of the commissioned artists at the renowned Wallpaper* Handmade show 2018. We are proud, exhilarated and humbled all at the same time. What a journey.
From travelling all the way from Singapore to the home of Villeroy&Boch in Mettlach, to soaking in the brand’s 400 years of heritage in their V&B castle to the tour of their phenomenal V&B museum. Everything was an absolute honour.
One of the most enriching was the chance to visit the Villeroy&Boch factory and understand the full production of their legendary tile crafts. The chance to fully emerge into each other’s history and create a truly cross cultural piece of work was very meaningful.
